Why Dumbreck Owners use Estate Agents and you Should Too

Dumbrek is situated in the leafy suburbs of Glasgow, a conservation area of special architectural and historic interest, with homes regularly highly valued and highly sought after.

So why do residents still use Estate Agents?

Dumbrek, Estate Agent, Can-Do Estate Agent

James Hill, in 1557, mentions Dumbrek in a rental book and so as far back as medieval times, there has been homeowners and renters in the area.

In the 18th Century, William Wordrop is the landowner, and later Mr Steven sold Dumbrek House and the adjacent lands to the Bellahouston estate, forming an even larger estate.

It wasn’t until the 19th century when architects, Fryers and Penman were employed to work alongside George Hamilton, to build 150 villas in Pollockshields and Dumbrek, that Dumbrek became the place it resembles today.

By 1915, the area was pretty much finished and what remains is relatively unchanged, bar a few demolished villas to make way for flats and some extensions.

Properties here are large and spacious and homeowners living behind the beautiful gardens and tall windows, are aware that they possess some of the most beautiful properties within 3.5km of the City centre.

Yet, with homes selling between £290,000 and over £700,000, what is it that homeowners know about selling their home using an Estate Agent that others choose to ignore?

They know that TIME is our most valuable commodity.

The one thing we can never get back or make more of. Money, Yes we can make more of it; Luxuries, sure, they will always be around to buy; even our friends can change and our families can grow, but time and the way we spend it matters.

Anyone who has ever listened to a podcast on being more effective in life, achieving more, or becoming your own boss will have realised that the number one item every successful person has to learn is how to use their time properly.

I am sure that there are business people living within Dumbrek who are more than capable of negotiating a sale and organising the legal matters that surround that sale and yet, Estate Agents are still selling homes in this area of Glasgow.

Our time is our most precious commodity and what home sellers employ Estate Agents to do, is provide that valuable time to concentrate on the things that matter to them.

The expert Estate Agent knows this. They plan for every house sale and regularly update clients. They are aware that from the moment they are greeting a home seller, they are making their lives easier to move on to the next challenge that lies ahead.

Knowing that, gives home sellers power over who they choose to market their homes. They need to know that when they engage with an Estate Agent, they are interested in making the process as smooth and uncomplicated as possible.

This is after all the purpose of employing a third party.

Dumbrek isn’t the only area of Glasgow that is a conservation area of course. It isn’t even the most expensive area either, but lessons can be learned everywhere, and living close by has taught me one thing that I live daily with…

Time, above all is what a client is paying for.

Time to be able to continue our lives in the manner we need to achieve our own goals, and as clients continue to choose to use my services, I am part of making their goals a success, just as I will yours.

Sound to lofty? I wondered about that, but in the end, I decided to keep it in, because I feel that I am truly interested in the people I work with and I know I am capable of providing the best experience they will ever receive in selling or buying a home.
